Madbury Community Club was established by Madbury women in 1950 as a civic and social organization; an
opportunity for women of Madbury to establish friendships and to endeavor to do something worthwhile for the
community. Though our lives and roles have changed over the last 60+ years, our goals have not changed. Here are some
of the things we do:
•
Hold monthly meetings (3rd Thursday of each month Sept.- May) to socialize, discuss business, and be entertained or informed
•
Provide a yearly Madbury calendar as a service to the community and an advertising opportunity for local businesses
•
Endeavor to be aware of crises in the community and provide support
•
Contribute to local charities
•
Improve our surroundings through projects such as gardening in public spaces, annual Town Clean-Up, and raising awareness of needs such as cemetery repair and poison ivy eradication
•
Cooperate with and provide support for other town organizations and events such as the Madbury Library, the Fast Squad and Fire Dept., Girl Scouts, and Madbury Day activities
Any woman interested in joining is very welcome. The September meeting is usually held at the Town Hall, beginning at
7pm on the third Thursday. Refreshments are served following a brief business session. Find the MCC on Facebook or
